Compaction Equipment

Rammers
Available in 4-Stroke, 2-Stroke, & Diesel
Mainly used for compacting back-fill around pipes, narrow trenches that are less than 500mm, and around foundations.
With rammers the material is compacted by using the impact forces that are applied by the ramming foot generating a shearing & kneading effect in the material.
Ride-On-Rollers
Available in 10T (Smooth), 20T (Smooth), 10T (Closed Cab), 2.5T/1200
Mainly used for the compaction of materials (such as road surface layers) as well as for light compaction work in earth construction (such as road sub bases).
In order to get maximum output from this machine you should:
  • Know the soil type
  • Know the compaction specs
  • Know the application
  • Have a good moisture content.
You can provide this detail to a Hire All sales person and they can recommend the best equipment for the given specs.

Padfoot Shells
Available in 10T & 20T
Is an attachment that accompanies padfoot rollers.
Padfoot Rollers
Available in 13T
These rollers generate static pressure, vibration, as well as impact on the materials BUT they are also able to generate manipulative force which allows for uniform compaction.
Mainly used for projects where soil is needed to be compacted at greater depths.

Roller Vibrators
Available in 65, 75, 90, 35/Trench, & 75 (Electric Start)
Have a similar job to rammers and plate compactors however are usually used for large jobs and areas.
These roller create a dynamic force or vibration that adds to the static weight of the machine, which as a result increases compaction energy.
Asphalt/Patchwork Roller Vibrators
Have a similar job to rammers and plate compactors however are usually used for large jobs and areas.
These roller create a dynamic force or vibration that adds to the static weight of the machine, which as a result increases compaction energy.
These machines are specifically designed to compact Asphalt.

Forward/Reverse Compactor
Mainly used for
  • The compaction of trenches
  • When needing layer work of a small to medium size (such as paving, filling stations, and parking lots)
  • Back filling operations
  • Block paving operations (such as construction of the base layer and settling of the bricks)
  • Road patching work for small to medium jobs.
Plate Compactor
Mainly used on soil as well as asphalt.
Application in soil:
- Backfills in utility construction.
- Medium width trenches (around 400mm - 500 mm).
- Around pipes.
- Pavement bases.
Application in asphalt compaction:
- Patching.
- Pothole repair work.

Brick Buster
Mainly used to break or cut bricks to the size needed for your project, allowing the bricks to perfectly fit in the spaces you need them to go.
