Stores Assistant/Junior Buyer

Hire All is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Stores Assistant/Junior Buyer. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement and inventory management processes, ensuring the efficient operation of our supply chain.


Purpose of Stores Assistant / Junior Buyer:

  • To step into the Stores Manager Role when needed.

  • To assist in the procurement department where needed.


Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a matric certificate.

  • Preferably at least 3 years’ experience in warehouse environment/procurement.

  • Highly effective supervisory skills and technique.

  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.

  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.

  • Must be computer literate. (MS Office)

  • Must be able to work under pressure.

  • Must have a strong drive and proactive nature

  • Outcomes orientated.

  • Experience in chasing jobs and processes is a critical requirement.

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Experience in technical buying and selling of automotive parts is a massive advantage.


Job Specification Requirements:

  • Assisting and stepping in whenever the Stores manager is unavailable.

  • Organizing and maintaining inventory and storage area.

  • Housekeeping, always ensuring a clean and organised warehouse.

  • Responsible for servicing and maintaining the equipment, ensuring they are parked in allocated bins every day before locking up.

  • Communicate job expectations and coach employees.

  • Interface with employees to answer questions or solve problems.

  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.

  • Coordinating and managing perpetual stock takes as required

  • Assisting with annual parts stock takes.

  • Conduct market research and identify potential suppliers, products, and services that meet the company’s procurement requirement.

  • Active management and following up of outstanding orders and quotations

  • Ensure that the procurement policy is adhered to with regards to all aspects.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions to achieve favourable pricing and service agreements.

  • Assisting with parts numbers to order the correct parts
